When a bride is always smiling, you know you have a winner client on your hands! Elanie was seriously one of the coolest people I have had the privilege to work with. We had so much fun during the process, and we always had something to laugh about.
To this day Elanie’s dress is one of my favourites I have made. I just love the simplicity and elegance of her dress. Everything about their wedding was simple, yet so elegant and stylish. I just love how they combined all the gorgeous colours, and I absolutely love her bouquet! Another detail that caught my eye would definitely be the Protea in the bouquet, which you can also find on the on the grooms jacket in the form of a brooch and the fabric flower on her dress. It is the little things like these that can really personalise your wedding day, and make it so much more special.
I made Elanie’s dress of Ivory raw silk. I added layers of tulle for the skirt to create a softer look. In addition to that I used corded and beaded lace on the bodice. Placing a ribbon belt with a fabric flower across her waistline to add a little more detail. I cut out single lace motifs and sewed them on by hand. Placing them to run down the skirt on the one side, slowly fading away. To complete her look I sewed lace trimming around the hem of her dress.
Elanie, ek hoop jou en Frikkie se huwelik is propvol seëninge en dat julle die grootste avontuur het saam met mekaar! Baie dankie dat ek deel kon wees van julle spesiale dag! x
