I can still remember how excited I was when Carmen and Warren’s wedding photographs finally came out. I had so much joy looking at their beautiful wedding day, and seeing how everything came together. To this day Carmen is still one of the most stylish brides I’ve ever had the privilege of working with!
When Carmen came to me I it was so exciting to hear about her idea for her wedding dress. It was really simple, but still so stylish and elegant. I was looking forward to the challenge of hand pleating an entire chiffon bodice to create this lovely dress.
Carmen’s classic white wedding dress was made of bridal satin for the base of the dress. To create a stunning full skirt I used a layer of chiffon, leaving a little extra at the back creating a train to complete the look. I used some more chiffon over the bodice, draping and sewing it by hand. To round of the look I used lace trimming as straps as well for the edge of the back to finish it off perfectly.
Two of my favourite surprise elements about their wedding would be the bridesmaids dresses in different colours; such a beautiful selection. Also how Carmen paired her classic white wedding dress with a stunning pair of Melissa shoes, which I think is just such a gorgeous idea! I just love bringing in some quirky elements to where you least expect it. The bonus is that it always makes for a unique photograph.
Carmen & Warren, I hope that your marriage is filled with tons of adventures, endless love and wonderful memories!
